Jalpai (Elaeocarpus serratus)

A popular and robust tropical fruit tree native to the Indian subcontinent. It produces smooth, oval green fruits that strongly resemble olives. The greenish-white flesh is firm, sour, and astringent when raw, making it legendary for authentic chutneys, pickles (achar), and traditional culinary dishes. Highly adaptable and quick-growing, it does exceptionally well in large garden containers and begins fruiting within 1 to 2 years
